10 day Instructor Course Lift Truck or Plant Route
Designed for:
Experienced operators who wish to become NPORS Registered Instructors
Course Aim:
The overall aim of the course is to:
• Provide learners with a thorough understanding of relevant Legislation, Codes of Practice, British Standards
• Provide learners with a thorough understanding of Instructional Techniques
• Enable learners to be able to prepare and deliver classroom and practical lesson plans in line with NPORS standards and requirements
Course Content:
• NPORS Operator Theory and Practical Tests to Instructor standard on relevant machinery*.
(*NB, this test will be conducted on day one of the course and must be successfully achieved to be able to progress with the rest of the course)
• Legislation and guidance
• The Role of the Instructor
• Principles of Instruction
• Skills Analysis
• Preparation and Planning
• Preparation and delivery of classroom lesson plans
• Preparation and delivery of practical lesson plans
At the end of the course learners will undertake 3 examinations. These will consist of a theoretical examination, delivery of a classroom lesson and the delivery of a practical lesson. To help achieve positive outcomes learners may be required to do some work at home in the evenings.
Duration: 10 Days – Maximum of 4 candidates per course
NB: An NPORS Instructor Application form will need to be completed prior to course attendance, and supporting documentation will be required e.g., Current C.V., copies of current accredited operator certificates etc.
5 day Instructor Course Lift Truck or Plant Route

Existing Instructors who wish to become NPORS Registered Instructors

- Provide learners with a thorough understanding of Instructional Techniques
- Enable learners to be able to prepare and deliver classroom and practical lesson plans in line with NPORS standards and requirements

Eligibility
Instructors who hold any of the following instructional techniques qualifications are eligible to attend a 5-day conversion course:
- RTITB, AITT, ITSSAR, IPAF, ALLMI, Lantra
- MOD Qualifications
- Cert Ed.
- PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training
- Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training

Good understanding of spoken and written English.
