Participants will develop competency in the following areas:

- Understanding the legal and safety responsibilities associated with operating grass cutters and mowers
- Identifying the main components, controls, and functions of various types of grass cutting equipment
- Conducting pre-use checks, routine maintenance, and safety inspections in line with manufacturer and legislative requirements
- Preparing equipment for use, including safe loading, unloading, and transportation
- Operating grass cutters and mowers safely across different terrains and conditions
- Recognising and managing potential hazards related to grass cutting operations
- Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring correct fit and maintenance
- Carrying out safe shutdown, cleaning, and post-use procedures
- Understanding environmental considerations and responsible equipment use
Entry Requirements
- For candidates applying for the NPORS CSCS Card, or those who require the ‘HS&E TESTED’ logo on their card, a valid CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test pass (within the last 2 years) is required.
- Learners must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
