Course Content
The RTITB Counterbalance Lift Truck (often referred to as a forklift) operator training course will give you the skills to operate the truck safely and efficiently, carry out a pre-use inspection, and recall and explain the causes of truck and load instability.
This course covers, but is not limited to, the following areas;
- Lift truck controls and instruments
- Starting/moving/stopping and steering the truck
- Operation of hydraulic controls
- On/off ramp driving
- Vehicle loading and unloading
- Stacking and destacking
- Lift truck stability
- The operators’ safety code
Refresher Courses – 1 day course for up to 3 candidates
This course is suitable for those candidates who have received formal training, testing and certification previously and require re-assessment
Novice Operator Training Courses – 3 – 5 day courses
These courses are suitable for those candidates who little or no operating experience on the forklift truck
Experienced Operator Training Courses 2 – 3 day courses
These courses are suitable for those candidates who have operating experience on the forklift truck or are regular users and require formal training, testing and certification
Conversion Training Courses 1 – 2 day courses
These courses are suitable for those candidates who have been trained, tested and certificated on one truck type and require the same on another truck type (eg counterbalance flt trained and requires reach truck training)
