Participants will develop understanding and competency in the following areas:

- Understanding the role and responsibilities of the slinger/signaller within lifting operations
- Gaining awareness of industry hazards and the importance of safe working practices
- Interpreting and applying information from lifting plans and manufacturer’s instructions
- Identifying, selecting, and inspecting lifting accessories and equipment
- Understanding load characteristics and correct slinging techniques for various types of loads
- Communicating effectively with crane operators and other personnel using standard hand signals and radio communication
- Carrying out pre-use and post-use checks in line with legislative and manufacturer requirements
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and site-specific procedures
- Contributing to safe and efficient lifting operations through effective teamwork and risk management
Entry Requirements
- For candidates applying for the NPORS CSCS Card, or those who require the ‘HS&E TESTED’ logo on their card, a valid CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test pass (within the last 2 years) is required.
- Learners must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
