Participants will develop competency in the following areas:

- Understanding the legal and safety responsibilities associated with skid steer loader operation
- Identifying the main components, controls, and functions of skid steer loaders
- Conducting pre-use checks, routine maintenance, and safety inspections in line with manufacturer and legislative requirements
- Preparing the machine for work, including safe loading and unloading procedures
- Operating the skid steer loader safely across different site conditions and terrains
- Recognising and managing potential hazards associated with skid steer loader use
- Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring correct fit and maintenance
- Communicating effectively with site personnel and supervisors
- Carrying out safe parking, shutdown, and post-use procedures
- Understanding environmental considerations and responsible equipment use
Entry Requirements
- For candidates applying for the NPORS CSCS Card, or those who require the ‘HS&E TESTED’ logo on their card, a valid CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test pass (within the last 2 years) is required.
- Learners must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
